Occupy Wall Street protestors marched from Liberty Plaza to the Brooklyn Bridge on the afternoon of Saturday, October 1, 2011. Blocked by the police from crossing the footpath, a large group of protestors chose the roadbed, which is reserved for cars. I was up on the pedestrian walkway, walking alongside the protest. I do not think they have any solid philosophy, these are people who are on the streets because they sense that something is not right.
And there are people on the streets in other countries too.
For example in Israel almost 10% of the country demonstrated, in India several thousands were protesting against corruption, demonstrators almost never leave the streets in Spain, Greece, and the whole Middle East is in turmoil, not to mention the usual areas in the world where people are fighting for survival each day.
The unemployment among young people is close to 50% in Spain, close to 20% and rising in the US, we are very clearly in another financial crisis, a possible break down of the European Union with several countries facing bankruptcy, and politicians, economical leaders seem perplexed, helpless, desperate, not because they do now want to do something, but because they simply have no clue.
So it is not the question of "are you with them, or against them" that is important, but rather "what is happening in the world?", and "what can we do about it". We are not simply watching another news event, what is going on affects all of us.
I think we all need to "get out of our armchairs", stop thinking that these things will never happen to us, but we need to figure out what we ourselves can do to make things better.
We live in a global, interconnected world, we all have our responsibilities for each other.

Did you read about the options trader in London who said in a TV interview
that governments do not rule the world. Bankers and financiers do.
He is correct, I think, and people are fed up. My astrologer friend says
expect 5 years of turmoil.
It doesn't matter that i f I agree with them or not. Food will probably be in short supply
world wide. One in seven on earth are going hungry now. Many because they block aid from reaching the masses.

Time is the said...

Disagree.
