Question by neurok: Can a company fire a at-will employee because of where he lives?
I know that at -will employees have little to no rights. Basically the office is in dallas and i was relocating to waxahachie i worked for a pest control company and because i was moving they said they couldnt keep me even tho i was willing to comute to work in my personal vehicle and not in the company truck.

Well from your description they really dont need a reason to fire someone in that situation. its at will, you work at will and they can fire them at will. I really dont like that kind of thing myself as its so easy to abuse.. ie fire this guy cuz i want to hire my friend or seomthing.

Companies that have you sign 'at will' agreements would like you to think that they can dismiss you for no reason at all, but in many states this isn't true. Just because a business has a sign behind the counter that says simply "management isn't responsible" doesn't mean that they have no responsibilities under the law. Unfortunately, Texas is one of those states that will offer little to no job security protection for a worker. Good luck.
At will employees can be fired for any reason or for nop reason at all. That is why they a=e "At will", they are employed at their employers will.
