I think they were pretty fair. You could say the opposite and say Italian media didn't show her or her family at all.
At the end of the day, Americans just said "That girl looks crazy" and moved on.

I saw a poll that 70% of Americans feel she's guilty, so it doesn't seem like she's getting much support from here depsite what the media is portraying. Most feel if she did it, she has to face the consequences. She would probably get a lighter sentence in Europe than she would in the US, too, so she isn't getting much sympathy.
I think part of the fact is a lot of regular working Americans are getting fed up with street crime here, so we have lost a lot of sympathy towards criminals.
She does look like a sociopath like the first poster mentioned.
I think she was guilty and im happy she's in prison for killing that poor girl
