Question by the sun: Why are the Americans so nationalistic when they talk about Amanda Knox?
I'm not British, Italian or American.
I really don't get get why Americans are so sure about her innocence. Here are my points.
1) Amanda's parents complained about Italian media, which they think framed her as a bad person. Then they are interviewed by Oprah that shows Amanda's family crying and telling the italian police are wrong. Aren't they framing her again? i mean, maybe you think that the american media are right only because you are american, but let's think that she's guilty. From this point of view the american media would be framing a killer as a good person just because it's what her parents say. So, the italian police did a bad job because let the italian media influence them. Do you ever think that maybe italian media are right and the american are wrong? what if the police followed the american media and amanda turns out to be the killer? Do you ever think that maybe amanda is guilty, the police and judges weren't biased and it was just a coincidence that italian media were right?
2) you say that italians condemned her because she is american. Why should the italians have something against an american girl? plus i don't think that the judges sent her in jail just because she was american, even if italians were anti american, the judge could never act like this. In addition, also the italian boy was condemned. If you think that the judger were racist, why did he condemn the italian boy as well?
Why cant you accept that an american girl made a crime in another country? In the US many italians (and many other people of course) were killed because they were condemned but then they turned out to be innocent. ITalians didn complain about the fact that an italian boy killed that girl, they just took the fact
i see that in american shows they keep on showing her family crying and trashing the italian system and they think that's enough to prove her innocence. There were may proves, but tv just seems no to be interested in them, she was white, american, she cant be bad.
I wonder what would happen if an italian did the same thing in the US.
Anyway i read on this site that some think italian justice is medieval. This is ridiculous if you think that in the US the death penalty is still there
