I am doing a 5 page report on the red tide in florida for science
class. What does anybody know about it? I need major help. All i have on it so far is that is makes eyes and throught irritated. thatnks for any useful help. =)

Red Tides are caused by dinoglagellates, of which there are many species. Check these two sites out - they should be of some help in your report.

Red tide in Cardiff, California causes bioluminescence ocean waves. There were no color enhancements made to this video. In real life, the color is a bit more green.

Ok the first answer is correct. The algae bloom in warm waters because of the fertilizers that drain from or food producing fields into the water supply. The fertizers make it to the ocean and feed the algea. With the excess nutrients the algea grow out of control and suck all of the oxegyn out of the water. The fish in the water die and a large dead zone is produced.
